Our school conducted an awareness programme on POCSO Act on November 14, 2024. Mr. Rajesh Kumar MCA., B.Ed., and Mrs. Rangeela M.A., B.Ed., were the guest speakers who emphasized the importance of safety for Girls. The highlights of the programme was about The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, safeguarding children from sexual abuse, exploitation, and harassment, ensuring child-friendly procedures, timely investigations, and special courts for trial. They gave a brief description about the Act such as it defines various forms of sexual offenses, mandates mandatory reporting of suspected abuse, and imposes stringent penalties for offenders. They also gave knowledge by prioritizing the protection and rehabilitation of victims, the POCSO Act underscores society’s commitment to children’s safety and well-being, though challenges remain in its implementation and awareness, particularly in remote areas and among vulnerable communities
