On September 6, 2024, our school hosted an enlightening Spark Meeting on Money Management for Standard VII students, led by Mrs. Saranya. The session centered on three main concepts: saving, insurance, and investment. Mrs. Saranya explained the role of banks, the concept of bank interest, and how to effectively save money. She also covered the distinction between needs and wants, and the necessity of an anticipatory income-expense statement. Emphasizing the importance of saving for future needs, such as education, and for unexpected events, she encouraged students to prioritize savings and consider insurance and investment strategies. The meeting concluded with the thought-provoking story of The King and the Poet, highlighting the value of careful money management and its rewards.
