“Every chess master was once a beginner”

On 03.08.2025, our School, in association with the Thoothukudi District Chess Association, proudly hosted the 8th District Level Chess Tournament for the prestigious KVS Trophy. The tournament witnessed an overwhelming response with 342 students from 70 schools across the district participating in the U8, U10, U12, and U14 boys and girls categories. The event was inaugurated by Dr. C.S.D. Chidambaram Vignesh of Dev Dental Care, Thoothukudi, in the presence of Mr. G.P. Joe Prakash, President of the Thoothukudi District Chess Association. Over five challenging rounds, students showcased strategic brilliance and sportsmanship. The valedictory function was graced by Mr. P.S.S.G. Senthil Sankar, Managing Director of P.S.S. Exports, Thoothukudi, who distributed trophies, medals and certificates to the top 10 achievers. The tournament stood as a shining example of KVS School’s commitment to nurturing young talents and promoting the spirit of chess among school students.
