On 27th October 2024, KVS School proudly hosted its 7th District Level Chess Tournament, where boys and girls from U8, U10, and U12 categories competed for the prestigious KVS Trophy. With 272 students from 49 schools across the district, the event showcased impressive participation and skill. The tournament began with participant verification at 8:00 AM, followed by an inauguration by Mr. GP Joe Prakash, President of the Thoothukudi District Chess Association, who made the ceremonial first move. Over five intense rounds, players demonstrated their strategy and dedication. The Valedictory function was graced by Mr. K. Dhanush Mathan, Managing Partner of Kanico Industries, alongside Mr. K. Natchiraj and Mr. S. Rajkumar as Guests of Honor, who awarded trophies, medals, and certificates to the top 10 achievers among boys and girls. This successful tournament reinforced KVS School’s commitment to fostering young talent and promoting sportsmanship.
